We Need You!

CALLING ALL SPHS ATHLETES AND STUDENTS!
Hello all hope you're enjoying your day off. I think I know most of you guys. If you don't know me I'm Leah Schexnayder, a sophomore and I was on track and soccer last year. I'm reaching out to all of you because I need help with a project I'm working on. If you an athlete, I'm sure you know Coach Anthony Garcia, the current athletic trainer. If you don't know him he has been our athletic trainer since this last summer. He's the one who always makes sure all the teams get water and is there if anyone needs treatment on an injury. Coach Garcia unfortunately only has a temporary position that was supposed to end after the football season but he got an extension that will be ending very soon! People who never see all the work he is doing are the ones to make the decision to keep him. So, what I am looking for your support in making sure coach Garcia is secured a full time position at this school. I have spoken with Mrs. Anderson and she said the only way we can keep him is to have parents and students write letters to the district and her to influence the staff members to refill his position. In addition, if we could get students to help with bingo to raise some money to show that people are really interested in renovating the room that would be awesome! Lots of the equipment inside the training room is funded from his own pocket, and he spends way more hours there then he is employed to. Also, Mrs. Anderson really emphasized that parents have immense power because they are the taxpayers. So, she said if one or two parents would speak at board meetings about the importance or write letters that would greatly help. This project is extremely important to me because some of you know I broke my tibia last year and have been out for a full year and now because of the magic treatment coach Garcia had me do for my shin, I recovered in a fraction of the time my orthopedic surgeon said I would. So please help me and let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
